Forming Characteristics of Polyethylene for Electrothermal Melting Polyethylene Flange Connections

1. Crystalline materials have low moisture absorption and do not need to be fully dried. They have excellent flowability and are sensitive to pressure. High pressure injection is recommended for molding, with uniform material temperature, fast filling speed, and sufficient pressure retention. Direct gating is not recommended to prevent uneven shrinkage and increased internal stress. Pay attention to selecting the gate position to prevent shrinkage and deformation.
2. The shrinkage range and value are large, with obvious directionality and easy deformation and warping. The cooling speed should be slow, and the mold should be equipped with cold material pockets and a cooling system.
3. The heating time should not be too long, otherwise decomposition may occur.
When soft plastic parts have shallow side grooves, they can be forcibly demolded.
5. Melt rupture may occur and should not come into contact with organic solvents to prevent cracking.
